Rapper Edem has been actively involved in outreach efforts during the COVID-19 quarantine period. In the early hours of Tuesday, April 14, 2020, Edem and his management team, VRMG — Volta Regime Music Group, donated relief items to Lekma Hospital. Lekma Hospital is one of the health facilities with an isolation center caring for patients affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Items donated included a variety of products from Foodtech Ghana Limited, producers of the popular Snappy Snacks, for which Edem is a Brand Ambassador. The donation also included hand sanitizers and other essential items. According to Edem, the donation was intended to support and encourage frontline medical personnel in the fight against the pandemic.

Edem, who also runs “Pepper Dem,” a shitor brand with his wife, spent the Easter season providing breakfast to security personnel during the lockdown. He indicated that more such gestures would be replicated in other areas by his team and Foodtech Ghana Limited.
