Mrs Lesley Adjei-Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of Lesfam Company Limited was adjudged the winner of this year’s Forty Under 40 awards in the Logistics and Supplies category, at a ceremony held last Saturday at Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra. Lesfam is a food and beverage distributor located in Accra which has been operating for the past 7years. The award comes on the back of the tremendous growth of the company under the excellent leadership of Mrs Lesley Adjei Mensah.
Lesfam began operations with just 4 staff, distributing beverages for just a few local manufacturers and importers. Today, the company has over 80 staff distributing more than 200 brands of food and beverages for over 30 local and multinational manufacturers and importers within Ghana including Guinness, Nestle, Promasidor and Blow Chem Industries. The company commissioned its ultra-modern warehouse with state of the art equipment and machinery at the beginning of the year. As an indigenous business, the company prides itself in its robust processes and excellent customer service, with Lesley leading the team.
She graduated from Central University College with a degree in Business Administration. Lesley went on to further her education, earning an MBA in Finance from Coventry University and an MSc in Business Decision Management from the same university. She is also a Chartered Management Accountant with certification from CIMA. Her ability to translate her academic accomplishments into business success is one of many attributes that sets her apart in the business world. Her vision is to make Lesfam an efficient distributor of food and beverages with presence across the African continent.
The Forty under 40 Award is to identify, honour and celebrate a cross-section of the nation’s most influential and accomplished young business leaders under the age of forty from a wide range of industries, who are committed to business growth, professional excellence and community service and have achieved that at a relatively young age as result of this. They believe that in putting the spotlight on these young achievers, it will not only celebrate them but also build a strong platform for them by giving a voice and hope to the next generation of industry pacesetters whiles building a positive attitude in the youth to strive for excellence at a tender age.
